Designing beautiful landscapes with augmented reality
I had the opportunity to freelance for Home Outside, an innovative company harnessing the power of AR to design beautiful and climate-friendly landscapes for homeowners. Our team developed a unique digital experience for Bonnie Plants that helps customers design their home vegetable gardens and connect them with products they’ll love.
The experience begins with a brief quiz to identify the customer’s preferences and goals, followed by a customized 3D garden design and a list of plants needed to make it a reality.
As the designer on the project, I led the UX, developed the wireframes, and then used the Bonnie Plants’ brand guidelines and image assets to create the UI for each screen. I also created an animated loading screen that appears in between the quiz and 3D garden results.
A customized, 3D garden
After users take a brief quiz, they are presented with an index of customized garden plans. They can tap each garden option to view the 3D design via AR, access a blueprint, learn about the products included in the garden design, and add the package of products to their checkout cart for purchase.
