PriceRange
At GBH, I had the opportunity to lead the design of a unique game experience for Antiques Roadshow. PriceRange is a daily game that challenges players to assume the role of an appraiser. Each day, a new category (Jewelry, Furniture, Paintings, etc.) is presented, and players must rank a set of 7 objects in order from highest to lowest value. At the end of the game, players can engage more deeply with Antiques Roadshow content by watching the real appraisal videos for the items they ranked in the game.
I had end-to-end involvement on this project, leading the UX + wireframing, designing the UI for each screen, and developing the motion graphics throughout.
Game Flow + Wireframes
Core gameplay mechanic
The player is presented with one card at a time, each containing the name and picture of an antique. Tapping the “info” button on each card allows the player to view the image at a larger size and learn more about the characteristics of the item. Tapping the yellow buttons re-orders the cards. The magenta “Submit” button locks in the player’s answer and provides correct or incorrect feedback via the animations seen below.
At the end of the game, players are presented with their overall score and links to the appraisal videos for each item.
